Types of Appointments

The Writing Center offers three different methods for writers to meet with consultants about their writing. The most common, Face-to-Face sessions, meet for 50 minutes at the Writing Center. Online Video Chats also last 50 minutes and are similar to Face-to-Face sessions, but take place online. eTutoring is also an online method where the writer receives recorded feedback. For quick questions, you may also chat or email the Writing Center as well.

Frequent Visits Matter. The Journal of Writing Research found that writers who visit the writing center seven or more times get better grades on their writing. Writers can schedule up to three appointments per week, but there must be at least one hour between sessions.
